Why Do It?
Not all hunting is slow and steady. Flushing birds, chasing hounds, or making a final stalk often requires bursts of high output. Interval sprints increase your VO2 max and recovery speed.
Execution
- Find a flat stretch or a hill (preferred for safety).
- Warm up thoroughly with a light jog and dynamic stretches.
- Sprint at 85-95% effort for the prescribed time.
- Recover with a slow walk or complete rest.
- Repeat for prescribed rounds.
Common Mistakes
- Starting too fast and burning out early.
- Not resting enough between intervals (garbage reps).
- Skipping the warm-up (recipe for hamstring pulls).
