Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Shelby Dynamics LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("we", "our", "us"), makes the Terrain Ready mobile app and the terrainready.com website (together, the "Services"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us

• Account: email address, display name, optional profile photo, and your password if you use email sign-in (stored by our authentication provider, never by us in readable form). If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email they share, which may be a private relay address.
• Hunts and training: species, terrain, hunt dates, hunt location you pick on the map, pack weight, fitness level, training days, equipment, injuries or limitations you enter, and the workouts you log (sets, reps, weights, duration, effort, distance, elevation, notes).
• Body and recovery data: age, gender, height, weight, body fat, resting heart rate, sleep, soreness and fitness assessment answers, if you enter them.
• Messages: what you send us by email or the contact form.

Information from Apple Health or Health Connect (optional)

If you connect them, we read sleep, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, heart rate, steps, active energy, weight and workouts. We only read; we never write to your health data. Health data is used only to provide the Services to you, is never used for advertising, and is never sold.

Information collected automatically

• Device and usage: device model, operating system, app version, time zone, and which screens and features you use.
• Crash reports: technical details when the app crashes.
• Push token: an identifier that lets us send you notifications, if you allow them.
• Advertising identifier: on the free plan only, and on iPhone only if you allow tracking when asked. See section 5.
• Location: if you allow it, the hunt map uses your current location once to center the map. We save the hunt location you choose, not your device's location.

3. How We Use Information

• To build and update your training plan, readiness score and coaching notes.
• To run your account, sync your data across devices, and send notifications you asked for (plan ready, plan failed, workout reminders).
• To process subscriptions and check whether you have Terrain Ready Pro.
• To show ads on the free plan.
• To keep the Services secure, prevent abuse, fix crashes and understand which features are used.
• To answer your support requests.

4. AI-Generated Plans

Your training plans, workouts, exercise guides and coaching notes are written by AI models. To do this we send the hunt and training details described above (for example species, terrain, dates, hunt location, fitness level, equipment, limitations and readiness scores) through OpenRouter to AI model providers such as Anthropic and Google. We do not send your name or email address. These providers process the data to return a result for us, under their own data policies. AI output is general fitness information, not medical advice.

5. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that run parts of the Services for us:

• Google Firebase (sign-in, database, file storage, cloud functions, push notifications, analytics, crash reporting and app integrity checks).
• OpenRouter, Anthropic and Google (AI plan writing, as described in section 4).
• RevenueCat (subscription status). Purchases are processed by Apple or Google; we never see your payment card.
• Google AdMob (ads on the free plan). AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and other device data to show and measure ads. On iPhone we ask your permission before any tracking, and in regions that require it we ask for consent first. Pro members see no ads.
• CARTO (map images on the hunt map). Your device requests map tiles directly, which shares your IP address with them.
• Netlify (website hosting and the contact form).

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the safety of users or others, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.

6. Your Choices

• Health data: disconnect at any time in your phone's Health or Health Connect settings.
• Notifications: turn off in your phone's settings or with Workout Reminders in the app.
• Tracking and ads: deny or change tracking permission in iPhone Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking, or reset your advertising ID on Android. Upgrading to Pro removes ads.
• Location: deny location access; you can still pick a spot on the map.
• Export: Settings › Account Actions › Export My Data.
• Delete: Settings › Account Actions › Delete Account permanently deletes your account and all hunts, plans, workouts, health and recovery entries, and profile data we hold. You can also email us to request deletion.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your information, and to object to or restrict some processing. Email us to use them. We will not treat you differently for doing so.

7. Retention

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your data from our database right away. Records held by our providers, such as crash reports and analytics, expire on those providers' own retention schedules, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

8. Security and International Transfers

Data is encrypted in transit and stored with Google Cloud, with access limited to your own account. No system is perfectly secure. Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries, under safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required.

9. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age), and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Website

terrainready.com uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count visits and see which pages are read. If you use the contact form, we receive what you type in it.

11. Changes

We will post any changes here and update the date above. For significant changes we will also tell you in the app.
