Getting Started & Onboarding

Set Up Your First Hunt

Your hunt is the anchor for your training. The plan works back from your hunt date so you peak at the right time.

  1. Open Terrain Ready and tap Set up my hunt.
  2. Choose Prepare for an Upcoming Hunt, or Improve General Mountain Fitness if you have no hunt date yet.
  3. Pick your species, terrain and hunt date. A high-country mule deer hunt calls for different conditioning than a whitetail hunt from a stand.
  4. More detail (optional): training start date, hunt location, daily distance, pack weight, hunt length and hunt type. Sensible defaults are filled in, so you can skip this.
  5. Confirm hunt location (optional): on the map, confirm or adjust your unit or area. The map opens on typical habitat for your species (for example, the Rocky Mountains for elk) or near you for local game such as whitetail. Tap to fine-tune the spot.
  6. Choose your current fitness level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced or Elite) and training days per week, then tap Create My Plan.

While Your Plan Builds

AI writes your phases and your first workouts. This usually takes a few minutes. You can leave the screen. If notifications are on, we will tell you when the plan is ready, or if it failed and needs a retry.

On the free plan you get week 1 of your plan and the full phase outline. Terrain Ready Pro unlocks every week to opening day.

Refine Your Plan Later

None of these are required to start, but they make new weeks fit you better. All of them are in Settings:

  • Available Equipment: what you can train with. Without a list, plans assume bodyweight, a weighted pack, hills or stairs, and trails.
  • Profile & Biometrics: age, height, weight and resting heart rate.
  • Training Preferences: training days, session length and preferred time.
  • My Hunt Goals: edit your hunt or add another one.

A fitness assessment from the Readiness tab feeds your Hunt Readiness score.
