Why Do It?
Nature doesn't have handles. The Sandbag Get-Up forces you to wrestle with a shifting, awkward load from the ground to a standing position. It engages every muscle in your body and builds "old man strength" that applies directly to handling game in the field.
Execution
- Lie flat on your back with the sandbag on one shoulder.
- Roll to your opposite side/elbow.
- Push up to your hand.
- Sweep your leg under your body to a kneeling position.
- Stand up tall with the bag secure.
- Reverse the movement to return to the floor.
Common Mistakes
- Rushing the movement and losing control of the bag.
- Not bracing the core (letting the bag crush you).
- Skipping steps (e.g., trying to stand straight up from the ground).
