Leg Durability
Steep grades, loose shale, and unpredictable footing destroy unconditioned bodies. "Leg Durability" is about bulletproofing your knees, ankles, and hips for the descent.
Eccentric Loading
Most injuries happen on the way down. Gravity accelerates your mass, putting immense force on your joints. We train the eccentric phase (lengthening under load) to prepare your brakes.
- Tempo Squats: Slow, controlled descents (3-5 seconds) to build tendon stiffness.
- Step Downs: Targeted loading of the VMO (teardrop muscle) to stabilize the knee cap.
- Depth Jumps: Advanced plyometrics to absorb impact forces.
Multi-Planar Movement
Hunting doesn't happen on a flat treadmill. You're side-hilling, stepping over logs, and navigating scree.
Lateral
Cossack Squats, Lateral Lunges.
Rotational
Woodchops, Landmine Rotations.
Balance
Single-Leg RDLs, Bosu Ball work.
